Burhān is a free Quran reading app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your reading data stays on your device; the only thing we collect is anonymous usage statistics, described below — and you can turn them off at any time.
We collect anonymous usage statistics — for example which features are used, whether audio playback completes, and whether AI requests succeed — through PostHog, an analytics service, via our own endpoint. These statistics are linked to a random identifier generated on your device, never to your name or an account (the app has no accounts). Your profile name and search text never leave your device. You can disable these statistics at any time in Settings; the app works identically without them. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not sell data.
Your preferences (theme, font size, reciter, language), bookmarks, notes, and downloaded content are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
The app fetches Quran text, translations, and audio from the public Quran.com API (api.quran.com). These requests contain no personal identifiers. Anonymous usage statistics are processed by PostHog on our behalf. We do not integrate any advertising or social media SDKs.
